Terms of Service

Welcome to Yasso. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Yasso mobile application ("App") and website at yasso.ai ("Site"), collectively referred to as the "Service." By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Yasso, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of Yasso after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Yasso is an AI-powered children's storybook creation platform that allows parents and guardians to:

• Create custom children's stories by providing text prompts and themes
• Generate AI-created illustrations in multiple art styles for each story scene
• Add AI-powered voice narration to stories
• Save, manage, and revisit stories in a personal library
• Export stories as MP4 videos or PDF storybooks (Pro plan)
• Use a calming Bedtime Mode for nighttime reading (Pro plan)

3. Account Registration & Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years of age to create a Yasso account. Accounts are intended for parents, legal guardians, or other adults responsible for a child's care. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

3.2 Children's Use

Yasso is designed for children aged 3–10 to enjoy under parental supervision. Children do not create their own accounts. Parents are responsible for supervising their child's use of the App and for all activity under their account.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Please notify us immediately at support@yasso.ai if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

4.1 Free Tier

Yasso offers a free tier with limited features, including 1 story per month, standard image quality, and 1 narration voice. No payment information is required for the free tier.

4.2 Pro Subscription

The Pro plan provides additional features including more stories per month, premium image quality, all narration voices, export capabilities, and Bedtime Mode. Pricing is displayed in the App and on our website.

4.3 Billing & Payment

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android). Yasso does not directly handle or store payment information. Billing terms, payment methods, and refund policies are governed by Apple's or Google's respective terms of service.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play). Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
• Your account reverts to the Free tier after the billing period ends
• Stories previously created and saved remain in your library
• Refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google per their policies

5. Content Ownership & Licensing

5.1 Your Content

Stories generated through Yasso based on your prompts belong to you. You have the right to use, share, export, and enjoy your stories for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5.2 Service Improvement

By using Yasso, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use anonymized, aggregated data derived from usage patterns (not specific story content) to improve our AI models and service quality. We will never share identifiable stories or prompts with third parties.

5.3 Yasso Intellectual Property

The Yasso name, logo, bear mascot character, app design, and all related branding are the intellectual property of Yasso. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use our branding without prior written permission.

6. AI-Generated Content

• AI-generated stories are created algorithmically and may not always perfectly match your expectations
• Illustrations are AI-generated and may occasionally contain visual artifacts
• Voice narration is synthesized by AI and may have occasional pronunciation variations
• We implement safety filters and content moderation but cannot guarantee that all generated content will be perfectly suitable in every context
• Parents are encouraged to review generated stories before sharing them with children

7. Acceptable Use

When using Yasso, you agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate harmful, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate content
• Attempt to manipulate the AI to produce content that violates our content guidelines
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
• Circumvent any security features, rate limits, or usage restrictions
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the Free tier
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Content Moderation

Yasso employs automated safety filters to review and moderate AI-generated content. Specifically:

• Story prompts are screened for inappropriate or harmful themes before processing
• Generated content is filtered to ensure age-appropriateness
• We reserve the right to block, modify, or remove content that violates our guidelines
• If you encounter inappropriate generated content, please report it to support@yasso.ai so we can improve our filters

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Yasso is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied
• We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will meet specific expectations
• Yasso shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Yasso in the 12 months preceding the claim
• Nothing in these Terms shall limit liability for gross negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yasso, its developer, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms or our content guidelines
• You engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Required by law or legal process
• We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice)

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting support@yasso.ai. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, except where prohibited by law.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Yasso regarding your use of the Service. They supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
